Pool Deck Grading
We grade pool decks to move water away from the coping and the house instead of pooling against it, and can talk through paver options that stay cooler underfoot in direct sun.
SALT AIR TESTED BEACHSIDE BUILT
In Cocoa Beach, we build driveways, pool decks, and walkways to handle blowing sand and daily sun — not just to look sharp on install day.
Paver installation in Cocoa Beach
Cocoa Beach is beachside living — pool decks, outdoor showers, driveways that see sand tracked across them daily. A lot of what we install here is for vacation rentals, where the yard has to look sharp for guest photos and hold up to turnover traffic between bookings. Salt air and hard UV work on every outdoor surface this close to the water, so what's under the pavers matters as much as what's on top. We walk the property and plan the install around how it gets used, guests included.
We compact the base in lifts, not all at once, so it doesn't settle unevenly under a pool deck or a driveway that sees daily traffic. Bedding sand stays around an inch — thick sand under pavers is the shortcut that fails first in a beach environment where sand already wants to migrate. Edge restraint gets fastened into the compacted base, not pinned into loose sand, and on driveways we run herringbone under the wheel path because it locks under load better. Drainage gets planned before a paver goes down.
What that looks like here
We grade pool decks to move water away from the coping and the house instead of pooling against it, and can talk through paver options that stay cooler underfoot in direct sun.
Guest traffic between bookings is harder on a surface than a family driveway. Herringbone under wheel paths and a properly compacted base hold up to that kind of daily wear.
We keep bedding sand thin and let the compacted base do the work, so blowing beach sand and salt air aren't fighting a shortcut installation from day one.
By the numbers
The Brevard County tax roll counts 3,065 single-family homes in Cocoa Beach. The typical one was built in 1963, and about 89% were built before 2000.
With most homes here past twenty-five years old, many cracked or worn driveways and patios are ready to be replaced with pavers.

Local questions
It depends on the paver's color and finish — darker colors absorb more heat. We'll walk you through lighter and textured options for pool decks specifically, since that's a different call than a driveway gets.
Yes, tell us your calendar gaps and we'll plan the work around them. We'll also talk through which areas need to hold up to the most guest traffic so we can plan the base accordingly.
It can work sand out of joints over time, which is normal wear near the beach. Joint sand is a maintenance item, not a failure — we'll show you what re-sanding looks like when we do the estimate.
